here are the pics of my purses. They are well loved and used. You will need the new crop a dile big bite, or a silent setter, the hammer will not work to set the eyelets.
You can email me or post questions. I have to say that Do your page the size of the purse before you laminate. Do not laminate until you have punched each of your holes.
You will need an extra 1/2 inch on the bottom that you will score, with no embelis or photos or decoration. This helps make the bottom of your purse.
Punch your holes for eyelets first. I tend to do 1 inch increments for the sides of the front and back panels. I lay the front and back panels together with pictures outward. This ensures that the punches are in the same places front or back. Punch both pieces together. Punch both the bottom areas of the front and back panels at the same time as well.
for the sides, decide how wide you would like your purse; I recommend around 3.5 inches plus the 1/2 inch you will add to the sides and bottom to eyelet to each piece. score the bottom and sides 1/2 inch from bottom and side edges. Leave the top intact. Punch each of the sides by lining up the punch marks from the sides of the so that you are punching on the 1/2 inch scored piece. the flap will be behind the front and back panels.
This is really hard to explain, but easier than it sounds.
the bottom is the exact width of the sides and length of the front panels. you will punch the holes for eyelets in the same manner that you punched each side.
After all holes punched and scores in place laminate each piece to have a 1/4 in boarder. you can trim down after if easier for you.
re punch the holes. they will be see through. it gives a better seal this way.
Now assemble front to side a then side a to back then back to side b. DO NOT ASSEMBLE SIDE B TO FRONT YET!!!!!! You should have a very long plastic thingy.
attach bottom to scored punched portion of front then to side a. I cut the laminated portion of sides from the folded area off. so that I have a tab at the bottom of each side the exact size of the bottom portion. The area cut from the bottom is about 3/4 inch in and 3/4 inch from bottom. Then when it is folded, it is exactly the same size as the base. it will begin to fold at the score lines with each eyelet placed. Then follow back piece to bottom and then the side b to bottom
Now you can eyelet side b to front.
I cover a piece of chip board with paper for the interior bottom of the purse.
I use sewing eyelets to attach for the binder clips and the ribbon. They have a front and back and are therefore stronger. They will not rip out as easily.
